CoolSeal by Guardtop has been awarded "The Coolest in LA" by Climate Resolve for its efforts towards combating the urban heat island effect and mitigating the global heat crisis. This prestigious award was presented at the Coolest in LA Gala, where Climate Resolve recognized CoolSeal by GuardTop’s tireless dedication to building a better environment for future generations through heat-mitigation.
CoolSeal by Guardtop was applauded for its innovative, solar-activated engineering, which delivers a higher-performing, long lasting asphalt sealcoat for forward thinking communities. Applied and studied across the globe, this innovative solution is proven to lower surface temperatures by an average of 12°F when compared to traditional black asphalt products during peak afternoon heat. In addition to lowering the surface temperatures, benefits of CoolSeal include decreased energy consumption and ambient temperatures.
Climate Resolve, a non-profit organization, is committed to connecting communities, organizations and policymakers to address the global problem of climate change with local action. This summer, Climate Resolve has committed itself to continuing to push for innovative solutions, such as sun reflecting solutions to cool down LA’s heat-burdened neighborhoods.
On March 16, 2023, Climate Resolve celebrated their mission and the collective efforts to create a cooler LA at the LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes in Historic Downtown Los Angeles. This year marked the 10th anniversary of the event celebrating local climate achievements, and it was the biggest and most glamorous event to date.
During the gala, Climate Resolve honored several climate leaders, including Kellie Hawkins Davis of EKA, Andy Lipkis of ARLA, the 41st Mayor of Los Angeles Antonio Villaraigosa, and GuardTop's CoolSeal technology.
The Coolest in LA gala showcased the importance of continued efforts to reduce/combat the negative impacts of heat on our communities, which include illness, impaired air quality and increased energy use at a cost.
